Assemblyman Stands Side-By-Side With Teachers And Parents

NORWALK, California – Assemblyman Tony Mendoza (D-56) joined hundreds of concerned parents and educators at a rally held on Saturday, May 3 on the campus of Pioneer High School in Whittier, California to express concern over the governor’s proposed state budget cuts to education.

With parents, students and members of the California School Employees Association gathered, Assemblyman Mendoza addressed their concerns by stating that “The governor is proposing a $4.4 billion cut for education this year.  We need to be investing more into education, not less.”

Assemblyman Mendoza is a former educator that taught the fourth grade in East Los Angeles schools and has authored legislation that provided more resources to teachers and improved learning conditions for students.
