Developing an Economic Recovery Strategy

(Sacramento) – Led by Assemblymember V. Manuel Pérez (D-Coachella), the Committee on Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy conducted today its first hearing on an Economic Development Recovery Strategy for California. JEDE Committee Chairman Pérez said as the hearing began, California stands at an important junction in its history and with the passage of the federal stimulus package the state has the responsibility to maximize the impact of federal stimulus dollars.  Assemblymember Pérez says numerous hearings will be held throughout the state over the next several weeks and he expects a final blueprint to reinvigorate California’s economy will be completed by mid-May. Estrategia Para la Recuperación Económica

(Sacramento) – Bajo el liderazgo del Asambleísta Manuel Pérez (D-Coachella), el Comité de Trabajos, Desarrollo Económico y la Economia realizó su primera reunión para discutir su Estrategia de Recuperación para el Desarrollo Económico.  Como líder del Comité, Pérez enfatizó que California se encuentra atravesando un momento importante en su historia y con la aprobación del paquete federal de estímulo económico, el estado tiene la responsabilidad de asegurar el mayor impacto posible de estos fondos federales.  El Asambleísta Pérez dice que una serie de audiencias públicas se llevaran a cabo en las próximas semanas y añadió que el espera que una estrategia final para reinvigorizar a la economia del estado este lista para mediados de  Mayo.  Más detalles en este video de Assembly Access.


Assembly Committee On Jobs Issues Draft State Economic Recovery Plan

Assemblymember Pérez to Lead Economic Recovery Task Force

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember V. Manuel Pérez (D-Coachella) will lead a new Assembly task force charged with maximizing the impact of federal economic stimulus dollars. The creation of the Assembly Stimulus, Economic Recovery, and Jobs (SERJ) Task Force was announced today by Assembly Speaker Karen Bass (D–Los Angeles). Over the next three months the SERJ Task Force will work to flesh out a strategy, in conjunction with local governments, business leaders, workers, and community groups to best leverage new federal funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. El Asambleísta Pérez Designado Líder del Equipo Recuperación Económica del Estado

(Sacramento) –  El Asambleísta V. Manuel Pérez (D-Coachella) liderará el Equipo de Tarea Conjunta de la Asamblea para Asistir en los Esfuerzos de Rescate Económico del Estado (SERJ) enfocado en maximizar el impacto de los fondos federales del paquete de estimulo económico. La creación de este equipo fue anunciado hoy por la Presidente de la Asamblea Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles).  En los próximos tres meses el equipo de SERJ trabajará junto a gobiernos locales, líderes empresariales, trabajadores y grupos comunitarios para encontrar la mejor estrategia para usar al máximo los fondos del Acta de Reinversión y Recuperación Económica del país.  Más detalles en este video de Assembly Access.
