Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, representing the California State Sheriffs’ Association (CSSA), congratulates Assemblyman Jose Solorio (D-Anaheim) for receiving the CSSA award for outstanding legislative work in 2007.

The CSSA recognition spotlights Assemblyman Solorio’s work creating a new statewide anti-gang strategy of suppression, prevention, intervention, and re-entry programs. He was instrumental in the creation of a new State Anti-Gang Coordinator and authored legislation that is now providing funds to pay for new prison construction and more rehabilitation services.

"We are proud to recognize Assemblyman Solorio for his leadership and support of public safety,” said CSSA President, Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith. “We thank him for his work to make sure we are able to continue to serve and protect our communities."

CSSA, established in 1894, gives California sheriffs a single voice to improve law enforcement services to California citizens. For more information on the CSSA, visit www.cssa.org.
