| Assemblyman Solorio Announces 2008-09 Capital Fellows Programs | |
| Orange County College Grads Encouraged to Apply | |
SACRAMENTO – The Center for California Studies is already recruiting the next class of applicants to participate in its California State Government fellowship programs. California Assemblyman Jose Solorio (D-Anaheim), interested in seeing students from his district well represented in the programs, is encouraging college graduates from Orange County to apply. “It is a wonderful experience to witness and participate in California government at work,” says Solorio, a former Senate fellow. “Fellows also gain a sense of personal involvement in shaping California’s future. My days as a Senate fellow nurtured my interest in public service. I want college grads in Orange County who are interested in public service to experience the same thing.” The Center for California Studies administers four fellowship programs. Fellows work as full time, paid policy assistants for members of the California Assembly and Senate, legislative committees, senior executive branch staff, court officials, and other top ranking government officials. The application process is simple. The only prerequisite is a four-year college degree. The application postmark deadline for all 2008-2009 Fellowships is February 27, 2008. Applications can be obtained online, or through Assemblyman Solorio’s district office located at 2400 East Katella Avenue, Suite 640 in Anaheim. State Assemblyman Jose Solorio is the Chair of the Assembly Public Safety Committee and also serves on the Assembly Education, Transportation, and Appropriations Committees. He represents the Sixty-Ninth Assembly District, which includes the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, and Santa Ana.
