ANAHEIM, CA - Assemblyman Jose Solorio (D-Anaheim) and the Orange County Michoacan Federation will be hosting a dinner this Saturday, titled "Migrant Encounter: Michoacan and Orange County," with several Mexican dignitaries to honor Michoacan Governor Lazaro Cardenas Batel’s trip to Santa Ana this coming Saturday.

Michoacan Governor Lazaro Cardenas Batel will be making a short stop in Santa Ana this Saturday as part of his Southern California tour to meet with local Michoacan residents and local elected officials to discuss important issues including law enforcement, immigration, trade and commerce.

"I am pleased that Governor Cardenas Batel will be joining us to discuss issues affecting the large Michoacan population in Orange County. The City of Santa Ana, in particular, has one of the biggest concentrations of Michoacan people in the entire country. It is important for us to strengthen the ties between our county and Mexico and work together to resolve issues of mutual interest," said Assemblyman Solorio.

Several Michoacan dignitaries and members of the Orange County Michoacan Federation will be joining Michoacan Governor Batel and Assemblyman Solorio at the dinner. The Michoacan dignitaries include the Michoacan Attorney General, a Michoacan Legislator, and several Michoacan county mayors.

Attendees will participate in a dialogue with local law enforcement agencies to discuss public safety and immigration, and will conclude the event with presentations about trade, commerce, and tourism.

The "Migrant Encounter: Michoacan and Orange County" dinner will take place this coming Saturday, September 22, 2007, 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Delhi Center, located at 505 E. Central Avenue, Santa Ana, CA.
