Please attend this vital regional forum, Diversity and Demand: Addressing California's Heath Care Workforce Crisis that I am hosting for The California Wellness Foundation.

Experts in the health care field will present findings from major studies of the health care workforce issues that are endangering health care in our state, particularly for the underserved. They will share insights on successful programs that have helped increase our health care workforce. We have also invited community groups, hospitals, labor unions, chambers of commerce, and media to attend.

California’s aging population threatens to overwhelm our current health care system, which is suffering from a shortage of health care workers including physicians, nurses and more than 200 allied health practitioners. Major studies indicate that increasing the percentage of minority health professionals is crucial for improving the health and wellness of underserved communities. Minorities also represent a large pool of candidates to fill these crucial jobs.
