September 2008 eNewsletter
Dear Friends:
As summer comes to an end and our students head back to school, I want to let my constituents know that September is "College Savings Month." College can be expensive, but it is the investment of a lifetime. This fall, many students plan to apply to colleges and universities, and some will need help in affording higher education.
Saving money-- little at a time--goes a long way toward helping to pay for tuition and living expenses. The key to paying for college expenses, which continue to increase, is to start saving now. Please visit the Democratic Caucus' 'Preparing for College' website for tips and information on paying for higher education: http://democrats.assembly.ca.gov/issues/studentcenter/
I wish everyone a good start to the coming school year.
Sincerely,

Wilmer Amina Carter
