New community based organization launches campaign to support working families with benefit reception today.

(San Bernardino) The newly formed Inland Empire Working Families organization kicks off its Victory 2006 Campaign today with a benefit reception 5:00- 8:00pm at the Safety Employee’s Benefit Association Facility (SEBA) in San Bernardino.

The Inland Empire Working Families is committed to a progressive agenda for the future of working families in the Inland Empire. In order to meet this goal, the organization will work to identify men and women throughout California who share their goals and have the potential to enact progress for the working families in the Inland Empire region.

Community Activist Josie Estrada formed Inland Empire Working Families early this year because she saw a need to promote the political education and empowerment of working families through the identification of men, women, elected officials, labor candidates, and organizations that support issue that help working families. The organization will also work to enact progressive legislation, policies, platforms, and/or programs.

“I am very excited and committed to making our community a better place to live,” Estrada said. “The Victory 2006 Campaign is just the beginning.”

The organization plans to open a facility in Ontario to support community based organizations with office space, phone lines and computers.

Estrada, 56, was born and raised in the Inland Empire where she owns a printing company in Ontario. She is the corresponding secretary for the San Bernardino County Democratic Central Committee, a delegate for the 61st Assembly District and a member of the Educational Committee for the Corona Elementary School District.
