Assemblymember Norma J. Torres and with 911 for Kids International Chairman, Tim Brown present a resolution honoring California’s 911 Heroes.
Assemblymember Norma J. Torres (D-Pomona) joined Tim Brown, the California Highway Patrol and 9-1-1 for Kids today at the CHP Academy in Sacramento at the 12th annual Tim Brown Mentor Mini Camp, a nationally renowned mentor program which has inspired hundreds of fatherless/disadvantaged boys and young men. The annual event hosted by Tim Brown (8-time All Pro Bowl, 1987 Heisman, Oakland & LA Raiders ’87-’04, Tampa Bay ‘04) and his charity, 9-1-1 for Kids, gives at-risk, disadvantaged young men ages 10-19, the opportunity to team up with a mentor father and participate in a football training camp just like the pros.
Assemblymember Torres presented a Legislative Resolution to Tim Brown, and other professional & collegiate football players & mentor dads who conducted the “NFL style” mini training camp on the campus on the CHP Academy practice fields for the more than 100 at-risk youth.
Assemblymember Torres stated “Tim Brown is an inspirational leader for at-risk youth. His program is an example of what can be accomplished when young men and boys are mentored by responsible adults.”
The event assists young men from fatherless households and at-risk youth who can benefit from the encouragement and guidance of a caring adult, male role-model. Brown’s football constituents and coaches join California community leaders, law enforcement and businessmen to give local youth the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with the pros & college stars for a day.

Assemblymember Norma J. Torres with 911 for Kids International Chairman, Tim Brown, who is also a 9-time Pro Bowl selection and retired Oakland and LA Raiders Football Hall of Fame inductee.
