(East Los Angeles CA) - Assembly Member Charles Calderon (D-Montebello) will be the key note speaker at the grand opening of AltaMed Health Services Adult Day Health Care Center in East Los Angeles. The center will provide health programs and services that will help enhance or maintain medical, functional or mental status.

“AltaMed is one of the Nation’s leaders in providing culturally appropriate health care services to underserved populations,” states Assemblyman Charles M. Calderon. “This new ADHC answers a critical need within this community and provides families and caregivers with a wonderful resource to provide quality care for parent and other family members in order to maintain balance in their own lives.  I am pleased the State of California continues to demonstrate its commitment to funding Adult Day Health Care Centers.”

The services and programs offered by AltaMed include nursing care, counseling, meals; physical, occupational and speech therapies, recreational activities, transportation to and from the center, emotional support and health education classes.
