Sacramento - Today, Assemblymember Betty Karnette received her committee assignments when Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez announced his committee appointments for the California State Assembly. Assemblymember Karnette will serve as a member of the Assembly Rules, Transportation, Appropriations, Insurance and Arts and Entertainment Committees.

Stated Ms. Karnette, "I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to serve on many of the same committees for which I served while in the State Senate. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the coming months on the challenges facing the State."

Assemblymember Karnette was elected to the California State Assembly last November. Previously, Ms. Karnette served for eight years in the California Senate.
