Statement Of Assemblymember Ted Lieu On Declining His Legislative Pay Raise

“Out of respect for the difficult Budget situation facing the State of California, I am electing to decline the pay raise approved by the Citizens Compensation Commission. I will not accept this increase at a time when the ongoing Budget crisis could cause real harm to California families.

It is important to note that this pay raise was approved by an independent commission, created by a vote of the people.  State Legislators did not vote on this increase.”
