Assemblymember Lieu introduced AB 810 in February of this year to put some “teeth” into existing state laws regarding school safety plans. The bill is sponsored by United Teachers of Los Angeles, the largest local teachers’ organization in California. AB 810 would ensure that schools complete and file a school safety plan, and require them to make the plans available to parents, teachers, and administrators on demand. |
