Assemblymember Price Helps Honor 51st District Residents During Public Service Recognition Week

Six District Residents Nominated to Receive Public Service Awards

HAWTHORNE, May 5, 2008 – On May 7th, Assemblymember Curren Price will serve as Honorary Co-chair for the Greater Los Angeles Federal Executive Board’s Public Service Recognition Awards’ Ceremony.

Public Service Recognition Week has been nationally commemorated in the first week of May since 1985.  During this week, the hard work of men and women who serve the country as Federal, State and Local government employees is recognized.    “The dedication and hard work of public servants so often goes unrecognized,” said Assemblymember Price.  “This week is a time when we can appropriately honor the committed and civic-oriented people who work for our communities.”

Six residents of the 51st District were nominated to receive awards this week:

Community Service & Self-Development Award
Victoria Woods, Sr. Community Relations Officer - Metro

Self Development Award
Sandra M. Monge, Administrative Officer - Federal Aviation Administration (Lawndale Office)

Leadership Award
Dale Bouffiou, Manager, Regional Operations Center – Federal Aviation Administration

Individual Accomplishment Award
Jacqueline W. Roberts, Team Lead, Building Services Team – Federal Aviation Administration

Partnership Award

The Federal Executive Boards (FEBs) were established in 1961 by a Presidential Directive to improve coordination among Federal activities and programs outside of Washington.

Assemblymember Curren Price serves the 51st Assembly District, which includes Inglewood, Hawthorne, Gardena, Playa Vista, Westchester, Lawndale, West Athens, Lennox, Alondra Park, West Compton, Del Aire, Willowbrook, and portions of unincorporated Ladera.
