| Red, White and Blue Ribbons Are Being Worn Throughout the District on Tuesday | |
SACRAMENTO, September 6, 2007 – Assemblymember Curren Price (D-Inglewood) will be distributing red, white and blue ribbons throughout the 51st District and the State Capitol, in commemoration of the innocent victims of 911. “Tuesday, September 11th , marks the 6th Anniversary of one of the most solemn days in our country’s history and our hearts and prayers go out to all the families that were directly impacted by this American tragedy,” said Assemblymember Price. “As we go about our ordinary tasks on Tuesday, I hope that we will take a moment of quiet reflection in remembrance of our fellow Americans; whose lives ended six years ago on a day that began ordinarily enough, and ended by changing the course of countless lives and our entire history.” Red, white and blue are the official commemorative colors for 911. The colors of the American flag take on new significance in light of the September 11th attacks. Red is symbolic of many things, but most fundamentally, it is the color of life’s source. White represents peace, and blue signifies freedom. |
