WESTCHESTER, August 13, 2007 – Assemblymember Curren Price (D-Inglewood) is proudly cheering on the Westchester/Del Rey Little League Junior All Star Softball Team during their World Series run this week.    The team of 13-14 year old girls battled Alaska, Arizona, Idaho and Oregon to earn a place in the Western Regional Little League finals that took place in Tucson, Arizona.  In the final round, they beat Arizona, earning the title to represent the Western Region at the Junior Little League World Series.   “The entire District is rooting for these talented young ladies who are now representing us in an international arena,” said Assemblymember Price.  “No matter the outcome of the Series, they are already our champions!”   

Donning purple uniforms and playing for “The West” team are: Brittany Evans, Danielle Cullen, Gilly Childs, Haleigh Pellecer, Halie Times, Jessica Times, Kamyle Glover, Megan Baquet, Monica Cartwright, Nia Bolton, Rachael Lee, Sabrina Stewart, Sammy Jo LaPlante and Sandy Aguila.  The team is managed by Darryl Stewart and coached by Darryl Lee and Brent Times.
