SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Curren Price (D- Inglewood), on behalf of the Legislative Black Caucus of the California State Legislature, announces an upcoming investment workshop on Monday, June 25th. Senior investment officers from the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), the California State Teachers’ Retirement  System (CalSTRS), and the California Treasurer’s Office will provide an overview of the current opportunities for emerging institutional investment management firms in infrastructure bond financing, global equities, real estate, and alternative investment markets (including private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds).

“California has always been famous for its pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Assemblymember Price. “As we forge the path towards the global marketplace, our State continues to offer exciting and innovative approaches towards investment opportunities. The Legislative Black Caucus is pleased to be able to facilitate the communication and outreach necessary in order to make sure that minority small businesses take advantage of these opportunities.”

 The investment workshop will run from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on June 25th, and will feature seminars and smaller, concurrent breakout groups in each investment area. Lunch will be provided by the California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation.
