Assemblymember Curren Price Remembers
Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Curren Price is grieved to hear that U.S. Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald, 68, a seven-term California Democrat, died of cancer yesterday.

“I will remember her for serving as a strong advocate and resource for women and the disenfranchised. Congresswoman Juanita Millender- McDonald’s untimely passing is a loss to both elected officials and constituents in her district because she always put people before politics by taking on issues that some would avoid. Over a decade ago she was named as one of the fifteen women who would change the world, and I am not alone in saying that while her time was short, she did change the world.”

Assemblymember Curren Price serves the 51st Assembly District, which includes Inglewood, Hawthorne, Gardena, Playa Vista, Westchester, Lawndale, West Athens, Lennox, Alondra Park, West Compton, Del Aire, and Willowbrook, as well as portions of the unincorporated area of Ladera.
