De La Torre to Host 4th Annual Toy Drive in South East Cities

Santa Claus and Mrs. Santa will bring toys to over 300 Low-Income Families

Los Angeles, CA- Assemblymember Hector De La Torre (D- South Gate) in collaboration with the Oldtimers Association, Human Services Association, and the City of South Gate will provide toys to nearly 300 families at the 4th Annual “Holiday Helpers” toy giveaway.

“This event is a great way to close the year.  Every year, I look forward in sharing the spirit of the Holiday Season with hundreds of low income families in our communities,” said Assemblymember Hector De La Torre.

WHAT:           Holiday Helpers –Toy giveaway to benefit nearly 300 low-income families and 800 children that live in the 50th Assembly District.  The 50th Assembly District is comprise by the cities of Bell, Bellflower, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, Downey, Florence, Lynwood and Walnut Park.

Background:  Nearly 300 low-income families are selected each year by 50 participating elementary schools in the district. The families selected to participate in the toy drive receive gifts for all siblings up to the age of 13.
