Sacramento, CA – The California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) and Sierra Club California released their 2008 Legislative Scorecards this week and reported that Assemblymember Mike Eng (D–Monterey Park) voted 100% on each of the respective scorecards. The purpose of the Scorecards is to raise public awareness on how all members of the Legislature voted on key legislation relevant to protecting the environment, increasing the standard of living, improving public health.
“It’s a great honor to be named among the top legislators who received a 100% score from two of the most prominent and respected pro-environment organizations in California,” stated Assemblymember Eng. “I look forward to continuing to work with these two groups, as well as other pro-environment organizations, in order to establish a healthier and more sustainable environment for all Californians.”
The California League of Conservation Voters, established in 1972, is non-partisan organization which strives to protect the environmental quality of the state and help elect the best environmental leaders. The Sierra Club California, the largest environmental organization in California, is a non-profit, member-supported, public interest organization that promotes the conservation of our natural environment.
