Assemblyman Mike Davis participated in the Brilliant Eyes Turkey Give Away Program held at Brookins AME Church on Saturday, November 17, 2007, along with Ms. Kathy Roleigh, Chief Executive Officer of Brilliant Eyes, Inc. and Dr. Frederick O. Murph, Senior Pastor.

Over three hundred constituents came out to participate in the Turkey Give Away Program which provided carrots, milk, stuffing, cookies, rice, and turkey. Many of those participating were pleased with the generous contribution for the holiday, but were even more moved by the effort lead by Ms. Kathy Roleigh who is an oncology patient.

“We have much to be thankful for, and I am proof that faith is important as we reflect on reasons to be thankful this year, “revealed Ms. Kathy Roleigh. Assemblyman Mike Davis presented a certificate of recognition to Ms. Roleigh for her many years of providing thanksgiving baskets to residents of South Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, November 20, 2007, Assemblyman Mike Davis joined Golden State Water Company, Ralph’s Supermarket, Superior Warehouse, and Jackson Limousine in the 48th Assembly District Turkey Give Away Program at the Los Angeles District Office in Exposition Park. Over three hundred residents of the 48th Assembly District came out to participate, as well as local church and community based organizations.

Assemblyman Mike Davis also participated in the KDAY Radio Station Turkey Give Away Program held at the Los Angeles Sentinel on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, along with station program manager, Cliff Russell. One-hundred turkeys were given to residents through this program.

“We have so much to be thankful for this year, but I really focus on recognition of the men and women in the Iraq War who are fighting that we might enjoy the freedoms we know today in this country,” stated Assemblyman Mike Davis. “I hope for their safe return home as I think about how blessed we all are this Thanksgiving season,” Assemblyman Davis concluded.
