Celebrities scheduled to join Assemblymember Karen Bass and the Select Committee on Foster Care on Tuesday, May 2nd at the State Capitol to kick-off Foster Care Month. Along with foster youth and stakeholders, celebrities will participate in various activities throughout the day including meetings with the Senate and Assembly Democratic and Republican leadership between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. and an informational briefing with the Select Committee on Foster Care starting at 3 p.m. in room 317.
Confirmed celebrities include veteran award winning actress Jane Seymour; That 70’s Show star Kurtwood Smith, who is a mentor to a teenage foster youth; R&B artist and producer Kashif who grew up in the foster care system; daytime television actress Victoria Rowell who also grew up in foster care and has founded a non-profit organization to support foster youth; television and stage award winning actress Jasmine Guy. |
