AB 3 – Baldwin Hills Conservancy

This bill would continue funding the Baldwin Hills Conservancy, which is buying the land to extend Kenneth Hahn Park .

AB 138 – Parking Fee Exemptions for Veterans

This bill creates parking fee exemptions for veterans who have DMV approved special issued license plates.

AB 139 – Physician Assistants- Medical Exams

This bill enables physician assistants and nurse practitioners to conduct medical exams for commercial license through the Department of Motor Vehicles. 

AB 149 – Foster Youth Relative Searches Using Technology

This bill requires the California Department of Social Services in conjunction with stakeholders calls for Counties to provide computer software programs that allow foster youth to connect with their families

AB 161 - Re-Entry Facility Grants: C.O.R.E.

This bill address the obstacles that ex-offenders face when trying to re-enter into society by offering services that include job training and placement; drug and alcohol abuse counseling; housing assistance and other transitional assistance.

AB 166 – Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) Coverage for Peace Officers

This bill AB 166 would amend the California Labor Code to include MRSA skin infection into the list of workers’ compensation coverage for peace officers.

AB 167 – Elimination of the Asset Test for CalWORKS

This bill would eliminate the asset limit on CalWORKs applicants and recipients to encourage low-income families to save and invest in a personal safety net

AB 172 – HIPPY Pilot: Access to Early Education

This bill requires the Department of Social Services to create an early educational pilot project for foster parents and foster children.

AB 177 – Soledad Enrichment Action (SEA) Charter School of Los Angeles County- 10 year Sunset Extension

This bill allows continue the funding for charter schools serving at-risk youth in Los Angeles County for another 10 years 

AB 180 Ladera Heights Student Transfer

his bill would create a required timeframe for the State Board of Education to address an appeal.

AB 184 – Independent Living Program (ILP) Parity

This bill allows foster youth adopted at age 14 or older or in the care of a non relative to be eligible for Independent Living Program (ILP) Services, which will prepare them to be independent at 18years old

AB 190 – Caseload/Workload Allocation.

This bill implements the recommendations to reduce child welfare workload using a phase-in approach with full implementation by 2012

AB 216Aligning State Curriculum for Nonpublic Special Education Schools

This bill requires private schools that provide special education to students with exceptional needs to certify in writing that it meets specific educational requirements to the Superintendent of Public Instruction

AB 220 – Firefighters Bill of Rights

This bill institutes the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act, which states various rights of public safety officers with regard to representation, discrimination, discipline, and interrogation.

AB 638 – Dependent Youth Parity in Foster Services

This bill requires foster youth who are in the juvenile justice system to receive case management services including permanent planning, Independent Living Program, Chaffee grant, etc.

AB 658 – Homicide CURention Study/Pilot Programs (Oakland/LA)

This bill requires the Department of Public Health to report to the Legislature on best practices for the establishment of homicide reduction intervention pilot programs in Oakland and Los Angeles targeted at African-Americans.

AB 741 – Infant Mortality Pilot Program

This bill requires the Department of Public Health to establish inter-pregnancy care pilot programs to address infant mortality among African-Americans in Oakland and Los Angeles

AB 836 – Earned Income Tax Credits

This bill requires the State Controller to include a notice on all payroll warrants, from January 1st to April 15th of each year, issued to In-Home Supportive Service Providers that they may qualify for the federal earned income tax credit.

AB 845 – Foster family homes- Spot bill

Restores the part-time peace officer status to firefighting personnel who are not members of an arson-investigating unit in order to enforce fire CURention or fire suppression laws in order to protect the public’s safety, as well as themselves, in the course of performing their job-related duties

AB 1014 – Modifying the funding formula for new school construction

This bill creates greater flexibility to provide an accurate, real-world representation of an urban district's enrollment projection specifically, allowing an Alternative Enrollment Projection model to determine new construction eligibility.

AB 1025 – Lift Bans to Employment for Former Offenders

This bill would stop a person from being denied licenses or have their license suspended or revoked based on a criminal conviction that has been dismissed on specified grounds.

AB 1091 – Prop 1-C Establishing Guidelines for Fund Distribution

This bill would require the Department of Housing and Community Development to establish guidelines for the distribution of funds made available under the Bond Act.

AB 1316 – Disability Retirement for Teachers

This bill would enable disabled members of CalSTRS to receive a retirement allowance while their application for disability is processing.  

AB 1336 – Gambling Addiction Act- Spot Bill

This bill would provide funding to alcohol and drug abuse CURention programs to train program counselors regarding the identification and treatment of problem gambling

AB 1540 – Establishing Cash for College Program into State Law

This bill will provide funding to implement Cash for College Program into state-wide program.

AB 1695 – Small Business Bond Surety

This bill allocates $40M to assist small businesses obtain state bond security, which is required to obtain government contract.   

AB 1696 – Entertainment Industry Tax Credit

This bill would create a financial assistance program to help the Entertainment Industry for the productions of motion pictures filmed in the State.
