SACRAMENTO – Speaker Fabian Núñez (D-Los Angeles) today appointed Dr. Marion Kavanaugh-Lynch and Dr. Michael Wilson to the nine-member California Environmental Contaminant Biomonitoring Program Scientific Guidance Panel.

“Dr. Marion Kavanaugh-Lynch is a leading researcher in the role environmental contaminants play in the development of cancers and chronic health conditions,” Speaker Núñez said. “The Biomonitoring Program Scientific Guidance Panel needs someone with her experience and breadth of knowledge.”

“Dr. Michael Wilson has an impressive scientific background, but more importantly, his field research has allowed him to witness first hand the devastating effects of harmful chemicals on California’s most vulnerable populations,” Núñez said. “His commitment to this research has led him to California’s agricultural fields and produce processing plants, and with this appointment, he will have an even greater influence on our state’s leading heath and environmental agencies.”
