SACRAMENTO (CA)-Assemblymembers Paul Fong and Kevin de León introduced Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) 42, a resolution which acknowledges the history and contributions made by Chinese Americans and Chinese immigrants. It also expresses regret for the discriminatory laws and constitutional provisions that California enacted to persecute Chinese living in the 19th and 20th centuries – acts which the state has never, until now, formally apologized for.
