Primary jurisdictions are programs and policies affecting the recording, motion picture and other entertainment industries, tourism and arts programs and museums, professional and amateur sports including the State Athletic Commission and the regulation of athlete agents, and Internet media.
Committee on Governmental Organization
Primary jurisdictions are public records, open meetings laws, natural disasters (this is shared with the Housing and Community Development Committee and Local Government Committee), tobacco products, and horseracing.
Committee on Health
Primary jurisdictions are health care, Medi-Cal, mental health licensing of health and health-related professionals, and long term health care facilities.
Committee on Natural Resources
Primary jurisdiction includes air quality, climate change, energy efficiency, renewable energy, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), coastal protection, forestry, land conservation, oil spills, solid waste and recycling.
Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy
The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy was established by the California State Legislature in 1980. It preserves over 60,000 acres of parkland in both wilderness and urban settings, and improved more than 114 public recreational facilities throughout Southern California. The Conservancy consists of nine voting members, three ex officio members and six legislative members. This policy-making entity for the Conservancy is broadly representative of state, regional, and local interests. |
