the Sale of Bullets to Felons

(Sacramento) – It is illegal for convicted felons to purchase guns in California.  But it is perfectly legal to sell ammunition to criminals. Boosting Per-Pupil Education Funding

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Kevin de León  (D-Los Angeles) says the State Legislature must go on record as supporting an improvement in per pupil education funding in California. During a recent floor debate Assemblymember de León called on his fellow lawmakers to support Assembly Concurrent Resolution 54. ACR 54 states the Legislature’s intent that California must allocate sufficient funds for education to bring per-pupil spending up to or beyond the national average and to a level that covers the actual cost of educating California’s diverse student population. Fong And De León Request Formal Apology For Past Discrimination Against Chinese In California

SACRAMENTO (CA)-Assemblymembers Paul Fong and Kevin de León introduced Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) 42, a resolution which acknowledges the history and contributions made by Chinese Americans and Chinese immigrants.  It also expresses regret for the discriminatory laws and constitutional provisions that California enacted to persecute Chinese living in the 19th and 20th centuries – acts which the state has never, until now, formally apologized for.
