Assemblymember Levine Statement on Screenwriter's Guild Strike

LOS ANGELES – In light of this morning’s Writer’s Guild of America rally in Los Angeles, Assemblymember Lloyd Levine (D-Van Nuys) today issued the following statement regarding the ongoing writers strike:

“I support the Writers Guild’s pursuit of a fair contract that pays them for the outstanding work they do on a daily basis to make our entertainment industry successful,” Assemblymember Levine said. “I urge both sides to keep the lines of communication open so that we can have a quick and equitable resolution to this strike. A prolonged dispute hurts everyone, and I am deeply concerned about the thousands of residents in my district whose families have already been affected by this work stoppage.”

Levine staff attended this morning’s rally and have been in support on the picket line.
