Assemblymember Pedro Nava & the Junior League of Santa Barbara Promoting Blood Marrow Registry & Donor Drive at Santa Barbara Earth Day Booth

Effort Underway to Save Father

Santa Barbara -- Asseblymember Pedro Nava will host the Junior League of Santa Barbara and the Montes Family at his Santa Barbara Earth Day booth to promote a blood marrow registry and donor drive for Mr. Aaron Montes De Oca, who is suffering from myelodyspastic syndrome on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Santa Barbara County Courthouse in downtown Santa Barbara.  A simultaneous donor drive will be taking place on behalf of the Montes Family at Alameda Park located at 1400 Santa Barbara Street from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

“On this day that we celebrate the preciousness of planet earth and being responsible stewards of the environment, it is important that we also take care of each other,” said Nava. “Aaron Montes De Oca and his family are counting on our help so that he can win his battle against myelodyspastic syndrome.  He desperately a bone marrow transplant.  I encourage everyone to stop by my booth and come meet Aaron’s beautiful 4 year-old daughter, Maya and his wife Kelly, and to sign-up for the blood and bone marrow registry.”
