Assemblymember Pedro Nava Announces Transportation Funding for Ventura County

Critical Port Project set for Final Vote by California Transportation Commission in April

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Pedro Nava, Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee, announced today that his efforts to secure $27 million dollars in Proposition 1 B funding from the California Transportation Commission (CTC) for the U.S. 101 Rice Avenue interchange appear to be successful.

“Ventura County has made the final list of CTC projects up for consideration for Proposition 1 B Corridor Improvement Funding,” said Nava. “Once a final vote is
taken in April, this funding will make much needed improvements at the U.S. 101 interchange at Rice Avenue. Having just visited Port Hueneme on Friday, this interchange
and corridor is vital for Ventura County and for goods movement to and from the Port and the rest of California.”

Proposition 1B enacted by California voters on November 7, 2006, authorized the issuance of $19.925 billion in State general obligation bonds for specific transportation
programs throughout California. The California Transportation Commission (CTC), of which, Assemblymember Nava is an Ex-Officio member, overseas disbursement of
these monies for vital transportation projects throughout California.
