Assemblymember Pedro Nava's Statement Regarding the Governor's State Budget Proposal Released Earlier Today

Santa Barbara, CA-Assemblyember Pedro Nava, Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee and the Joint Committee on Emergency Services and Homeland Security responds to the Governor’s budget proposal released earlier today in Sacramento.

"California is where people come to realize their dreams. We are optimistic, hopeful, creative people. We can’t allow ourselves to be discouraged. We have faced difficult challenges before. By working hard, we will find solutions that are fair, reasonable and that protect all working families. We have some difficult budget decisions to make, but Californians don’t want to compromise the things that we all depend upon---It is vitally important that we continue to  protect  k-12 education, transportation, and public safety, and protect services for our most vulnerable. We will not seek budget solutions that hurt the hardworking families and the most vulnerable in our communities," said Nava.
