Arambula to host 2006 West Fresno Neighborhood Beautification Day

Assemblymember Juan Arambula (D-Fresno) today invited the public to join him and community partners at the 2006 West Fresno Neighborhood Beautification Day. The event will offer West Fresno residents and others a chance to make a sparkling difference in their community by helping to plant trees, sweep and clean streets and alleys, and remove graffiti.

In addition to these volunteer opportunities, the City of Fresno will be collecting used tires and providing information on code enforcement; Blue Cross of California will provide health information; PG&E contractors will be trimming trees near power lines; and Fresno Rescue Mission will provide a free lunch for all volunteers.

“I know there are many residents of West Fresno who feel that the needs of their neighborhoods have been ignored in the past,” said Assemblymember Arambula. “I am hosting the Neighborhood Beautification Day to give the opposite message — that there are many who stand ready to invest their pride in West Fresno neighborhoods.”

When: Saturday, April 29, 2006
