Arambula to make surprise announcement of 31st Assembly District Woman of the Year
Assemblymember Juan Arambula (D-Fresno) today invited the media to join him for a surprise announcement of his pick for the 2006 Woman of the Year in the 31st Assembly District, Ollie Dimery-Ratliff.
Ms. Dimery-Ratliff is the Division Director for Fresno County Juvenile Hall. Friends and colleagues praise her high ethics; her devotion to her family, friends, and church; and her creativity, compassion, and commitment to change the lives of troubled youth as the director of Juvenile Hall since 2001.
Ms. Dimery-Ratliff’s staff is expecting a surprise telephone call from Assemblymember Arambula with the good news. But instead, Assemblymember Arambula will be showing up in person with a bouquet of flowers to make the announcement to the winner. Members of the media are invited to be on hand to capture the special moment and learn about the life of this outstanding woman.

Every year a Woman of the Year is chosen by each of the state’s 80 Assemblymembers, brought to Sacramento, and honored in a special ceremony on the Assembly Floor.
