Those interested in purchasing a home or learning how to maintain one are especially encouraged to attend this free event, which is co-hosted by the

Fresno West Coalition for Economic Development. In addition to information from nonprofit organizations, realtors, and lenders, classes will be offered on:

• Your credit and how it affects buying a home
  
• The home-buying process
  
• Financing options for homebuyers
  
• Preparing your home for winter
  
• Banking and budgeting
  

“The Brookings Institution report last month on concentrated poverty in our cities was a call to action. All seven of the report’s recommendations to address this issue were related to housing,” said Assemblymember Arambula in announcing this event. “For me, the need to make affordable housing more accessible to a broader segment of our community couldn’t be clearer. That’s why I’m hosting this free event on Saturday.”
