Assemblymember Juan Arambula (D-Fresno) has invited the public to a reception Tuesday, September 20th, to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Arambula will also announce the winners of the Seventh Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Outstanding Leadership Awards at the event.

One award is being given in each of eight categories:

• Non-Profit Employee
• Public Safety
• Small Business Owner
• Medical
• Legal/Justice
• Community Volunteer
• Education
• Special Tribute

From over 60 nominations received, finalists in each category were selected, notified, and invited to attend with their family, friends, and professional colleagues. Arambula will present a plaque to one winner from each category at the reception.

“The overwhelming quality of the individuals nominated for the Outstanding Leadership Awards made selecting the winners very difficult,” Arambula said. “I believe that the individuals being honored have had a major impact on our community and are making the Valley a better place for us all to live.”
