Assemblymember Arambula has named Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims as the 2007 woman of the year in the Thirty First Assembly District. Sheriff Mims is the first woman to be named sheriff in the history of Fresno County. |
Assemblymember Arambula awaits the results of a free diabetes screening at Hispanic Family Day at the Zoo in Fresno in August 2006. Arambula purchased 500 zoo tickets and distributed them to children and adults who took advantage of free health offerings at the event. The plant employs 360 people and produces approximately 350,000 pounds of corn and flour tortillas per day. Some are sold in stores; others are shipped to restaurant chains and used to make Mexican food items such as burritos, tacos, and tostadas. |

The County's 3,600 miles of rural roads have nearly three times the fatality rate of urban roads. The CHP agreement was a response to legislation introduced by Assemblyember Arambula to address the high fatality rate. |
