Assemblymember ASSEMBLY MEMBER JUAN ARAMBULA
TO HELP CRAFT WATER LEGISLATION FOR CALIFORNIA
I was pleased when Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez announced that I had been named to a small working group of legislators who will lead the effort on crafting water legislation for California. As a representative of the Central Valley my job will be to work closely with eight other legislators who represent all parts of California, to craft good water policy that will be adopted in the Special Extraordinary Legislative Session on Water. I am honored the Speaker has put his trust and confidence in me to help craft such critical legislation as water policy for California. Water is vitally important to the future of our great state. For the central valley it means strengthening our number one industry, agriculture and ensuring the quality of water for all those who call the valley home. The legislative working group will be working closely with the Speaker during the special session to help build consensus with all the various stakeholders. We are going to initially be holding our meeting via teleconference and then I expect we will return to the State Capital to begin drafting a more definitive water policy. I look forward to the challenge of assisting in laying out the future of water storage, recharge, and use for California. It will be a challenge to find consensus among the various interests, but I am up for the task. For more information on any of the events that I will be participating in, please contact my district office in Fresno.
