Assemblywoman Parra Wins Passage Of Oceano Dunes Resolution

SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Nicole Parra, today, announced the unanimous passage of Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) 163, from the Senate Floor. ACR 163 recognizes the 100th Anniversary of the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area.

“Ocean Dunes is one of California’s most prized recreational areas,” said Assemblywoman Parra. “It is important for us to continually remind people of the terrific natural wonders we are privy to in California.”

This measure would commemorate the 100th anniversary of recreational motor vehicle use at Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area, would congratulate the Division of Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation of the Department of Parks and Recreation for its management of the recreation area, and would declare October 20, 2006, to October 22, 2006, as Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area Days.

“Over fifty percent of visitors arriving at Oceano Dunes SVRA come from the Central Valley, including myself,” Assemblywoman Parra said. “I am proud to recognize the history and importance of this State Park.”
