| On May 29, 2006, Assemblywoman Parra took part in a Memorial Day service for fallen soldiers at the Shafter Cemetery. Assemblywoman Parra, along with Assemblyman Kevin McCarthy, Senator Dean Florez, and other community members successfully organized the effort to replace the cemetery s old wooden flag poles with metal ones. | |
