Assemblymember John Laird (D-Santa Cruz), leader of the Assembly special session working group on water issues, issued the following statement on the governor’s just-released $9 billion water infrastructure proposal: “The magnitude of the governor’s new proposal is a reality check on anyone expecting an overnight solution to the state’s water problems. We are anxious to see the details behind the proposal. My colleagues and I in the Assembly will continue to look forward to productive discussions with our counterparts in the Senate and the Administration.” |
