Faculty Association of California Community Colleges Awards
John Laird “Legislator of the Year”
At its 2005 “Meeting of the Minds” conference, the
Faculty Association of California Community Colleges (FACCC) awarded John
“Legislator of the Year” for his “continued efforts and dedication to
community college faculty.” In
presenting the award, the FACCC recognized John’s work to gather 104
legislators’ signatures on a letter to Governor Schwarzenegger requesting
his attention on community college funding issues. FACCC Executive Director
Jonathan Lightman noted, “In every facet of his
legislative work, Laird is a tireless advocate for our institutions.”
