Developmentally Disabled look for More and Well Paid Employment Opportunities
Sacramento- Assemblymember Jim Beall (D-San Jose), Chair of the Human Services Committee is looking into the needs of developmentally disabled people from across the state. In an informational hearing in the city of Campbell in the San Jose area, Assemblymember Beall listened to several people affected by the lack of job opportunities for developmentally disabled people. He also listened to expert testimony to find the best ways of reforming the educational system, the job training system and focus on looking at the abilities of all people and not just their disabilities. Assemblymember Beall plans to use all the input to possibly craft useful legislation to help developmentally disabled people get real jobs with good pay.
