"This one morning program gift you have given us will make a HUGE difference for each child! Thank you Assemblymember Coto for caring about the children in our district.”

Nanci Newell, School Nurse
UPDATE: Vision Day Event a Success!
With the help of local optometrists and the staff of Washington Elementary school, Assemblymember Joe Coto’s Vision Day Event provided vision exams to many youngsters who might not otherwise have had access to such critical care. Drs. Lim, Tran and Ong graciously donated their services from eight to twelve o’clock on the morning of Friday, March 23rd. With the help of nurse Nanci Newell and principal Evans of Washington Elementary school in Downtown San Jose, more than 200 children made their way to the converted classroom where Assemblymember Coto’s staff registered and entertained them prior to their eye exams. As the students left the exam room, they were given treats such as sunglasses and carrots, courtesy of Joe Coto, in order to promote health and proper eye care.
