What: In September 2005, California enacted its first anti-trafficking law (Assembly Bill 22, Lieber) to make human trafficking a felony and assist victims in rebuilding their lives.  This landmark legislation also established the CA ACTS Task Force to make further recommendations on effective measures to stop traffickers and protect victims.  Legislative leaders and Task Force members, including key leaders representing law enforcement, prosecutors, public defenders, labor, health and social services, victim service providers, researchers and others, will discuss key findings of the report to combat this intolerable crime.  Task Force members will be available to answer questions.
