AB 34 – Tax Havens

Will increase state revenue by preventing multinational corporations from avoiding state taxes by moving income to tax haven countries.

AB 110 – Education Paperwork Reduction

Reduces duplicative and superfluous paperwork teachers are required to complete by state law

AB 205 – Denture Identification

Prohibits using a person's social se0506ity number as an identifying mark on dentures. Would instead require that dentures be marked with the owner's name to facilitate return if they are lost.

AB 312 – Medical Confidentiality for Crime Victims

Requires defense attorneys in a criminal proceeding to notify the patient or district attorney when they cause a subpoena to be issued to medical provider for the release of the patient's medical records.

Status: Senate Public Safety Committee

AB 313 – Parole Office Siting: Notification

Requires the Department of Corrections to notify jurisdictions about proposed parole office locations within 1000 feet of a school, including K-12 and childcare/preschools, or public parks with playground equipment designed for young children.

Status: Vetoed by Governor

AB 786 – Identity Theft: CSU employees

Would require the California State University system to provide an employee, upon request, with 4 hours of time off with pay when the university discloses that there has been, or could have been, a breach of se0506ity of employee personal information.

AB 792 - Regional park, park and open-space, and open-space districts: Police

Existing law grants certain municipal police powers to officers employed by park and open-space districts within the district they are employed by. This bill extends those powers to property owned or managed by the district.

AB 865 – Finance Lender Law Exemption: Charitable Foundations

Provides charitable foundations an exemption from the California Finance Lenders Law when providing loans to non-profits for charitable purposes

AB 889 – Weighing Device Inspection

Extends sunset date on the 58 county programs that inspect weighing and measuring devices such as gas pumps, grocery counter scales and taxi meters. Allows counties to recover the costs of completing the inspections.

AB 1082 – Telecommunication Consumer Bill of Rights

States the intent of the Legislature to adopt a telecommunication consumers' Bill of Rights and to establish additional protections fro the right of privacy of consumers.

AB 1085 – County Health Initiative Matching Funds

Expands State Children's Health Insurance Program funding eligibility to include children whose family income is at or below the maximum allowed by the federal Department of Health and Human Services.

AB 1130 – Regional Center Employees: Limited Liability

0506rent law gives limited protection to Regional Center employees from civil damages resulting from actions taken in the performance of their job. AB 1130 extends this law until January 1, 2009.

AB 1279 – Hazardous Substances: Site remediation

Addresses the staff shortage in the Department of Toxic Substances Control by exempting certain positions in the Department from hiring freezes and staff cutbacks as long as third party funding is provided. Without adequate staffing, the Department will be unable to rehabilitate contaminated sites for use for housing, open space or commercial use.

AB 1317 – Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Programs

Revises the authority of the Department of Health Services (DHS) to certify environmental laboratories, adopt regulations for fee collection and recognize accreditation from other states.

Status: Signed by Governor. Chapter 406, Statutes of 2005

AB 1337 – Hazardous Waste Processing

Makes changes to laws governing the operations of hazardous waste facilities.

Status: Senate Environmental Quality Committee

AB 1357 – State vehicles: alternative fuels

Encourages increased state use of bifuel, alternative fuel, flexible fuel, electric, and hybrid vehicles in the state's vehicle fleet in order to decrease dependence on petroleum based fuels.

Status: Vetoed by Governor

AB 1365 – Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Would make reducing emission of greenhouse gases by 7% by 2010 and 10% by 2020 a state planning priority.
