Assemblymember Mary Hayashi Applauds Presiding Commissioner’s Proposed Decision To Deny Eastshore Power Plant
Town Hall Meeting scheduled for July 11th

HAYWARD - Assemblymember Mary Hayashi (D-Hayward) applauded California Energy Commissioner Jeffrey Byron’s Proposed Decision to deny the certification of the Eastshore power plant in Hayward.

“This is a huge win for the community,” stated Assemblymember Hayashi.  “Thanks to the collective efforts of the intervenors and the residents of Hayward our concerns were heard.”

Since the PCPD is not the final determination in denying the plant’s certification, Assemblymember Mary Hayashi and Hayward Mayor Michael Sweeney are planning a Town Hall Meeting at the Hayward City Council Chambers located on the 2nd Floor at 777 B Street in Hayward on Friday, July 11th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to discuss the PCPD and amendments to the Assemblymember’s bill, AB 1909.  Recently amended, the bill will apply only to the city of Hayward and give it final authority to certify due to Eastshore’s unique close proximity and encroachment upon the operations of the Hayward Executive Airport.

For more information about the Town Hall, please call Assemblymember Hayashi’s district office at (510) 583-8818.

Assemblymember Hayashi currently serves the 18th Assembly District, which includes San Leandro, Hayward, Dublin, most of Castro Valley and Pleasanton, and a portion of Oakland, as well as the unincorporated areas of Ashland, Cherryland and San Lorenzo.
