SACRAMENTO, CA – Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California (PPAC) released its 2007 Legislative Scorecard and honored Assemblymember Mary Hayashi for having a perfect Pro-Choice voting record in the California Legislature.  The scorecard identified bills important for women to receive comprehensive sexual education, gain access to reproductive health care, and notably, the right to choose a safe and legal abortion.

Assemblymember Hayashi authored or principally co-authored two of the three PPAC highlighted bills in the scorecard that both the legislature passed and the governor signed into law.  They include AB 1328, which would have eliminated eligibility barriers to the Access for Infants and Mothers Program and SB 94, which increases Medi-Cal reimbursement rates for the state’s family planning program.
