Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez Appoints Assemblymember Mary Hayashi to Working Group on Health Care for Special Session

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Mary Hayashi (D–Hayward) announced today that Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez has appointed her to the working group on health care for the special session called by the governor. 

“I am honored to be selected by the speaker for this important legislative group,” stated Hayashi.  “Health care reform is the state’s highest priority and I look forward to assisting the speaker in addressing this crucial issue.”

Speaker Núñez also appointed Majority Leader Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) and Assemblymembers Hector De La Torre (D-South Gate), Mervyn Dymally (D-Los Angeles), Patty Berg (D-Eureka), Mark DeSaulnier (D-Martinez),  and Ed Hernandez (D-Baldwin Park) to the group.

Speaker Núñez stated, “They represent the broad diversity of views in our caucus and are all committed to helping us achieve consensus with the Governor and the state Senate.”
Assemblymember Hayashi represents District 18, which includes the cities of Hayward, San Leandro, Dublin, most of Castro Valley and Pleasanton, and a portion of Oakland, as well as the unincorporated areas of Ashland, Cherryland, Sunol and San Lorenzo.
