Mentoring and after-school programs are among the topics to be discussed before the airing of "Pride," starring Terrence Howard ("Hustle and Flow," "Lackawanna Blues") and comedian Bernie Mac. "Pride," to be released nationwide March 23, is the story of the founder of Philadelphia's first African-American swim team. Hayashi, elected last November to the 18th Assembly District seat, already has introduced legislation to expand preventative dental services for children, qualify school health centers to bill Medi-Cal, raise funding for health services programs at community colleges, and improve vision care benefits for retired county or special district employees and dependents. Reservations are required. Up to four seats can be reserved. Call (510) 583-8818.
