On January 14, 2008, Assemblymember Galgiani presented AB 660 in the Assembly Transportation Committee. Assembly Bill (AB) 660 will streamline the Grade Separation Program by eliminating confusing and/or obsolete requirements, which will make the Program simpler to administer and easier for local agencies to understand. AB 660 seeks to improve the Program so that it works – so that grade separation projects can actually get built. The bill passed out of the Assembly Transportation Committee 14 – 0 with the help of key witnesses like the mayor of Merced, Ellie Wooten, Kathleen Crookham, Chair of the Merced County Board of Supervisors, and Pam Loomis of the Public Utilities Commission. On January 24, 2008, AB 660 passed out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee 16 – 0. |
